Với người Nhật, trong phương pháp cho con ăn dặm từ những ngày đầu đều tôn chỉ theo hướng không ép trẻ ăn. Tôn trọng trẻ. Vì trẻ không bao giờ để mình bị đói. Chế độ ăn uống phải cân bằng về mặt dinh dưỡng. Thường xuyên ăn trái cây, và phải ăn mỗi ngày.

Nhân cách là quan trọng

Người Nhật không nhất nhất trẻ phải thật xuất sắc. Thông minh, học giỏi thì tốt. Nhưng nhân cách tốt thì lại quan trọng hơn cả. Các thói quen xấu phải bị loại trừ. Không bao giờ thỏa hiệp với lợi ích ngắn hạn để hình thành thói quen xấu cho trẻ.
